The Accra Indie Filmfest (AiF) proudly announces the return of its annual international short film festival, now in its 7th year. Scheduled for 4th to 9th August 2025, the festival will take place in collaboration with Alliance Française Ghana under the compelling theme “Disruption—Visions of Tomorrow.” This theme captures a transformative moment in global cinema—one where the boundaries of tradition are being redefined by a new wave of fearless creatives determined to reimagine the future of storytelling.
Since its launch in 2019, AiF has grown into one of Africa’s most vibrant platforms for short films and intercultural cinematic dialogue. From navigating the pandemic with digital and hybrid events to spotlighting bold new voices, the festival has consistently pushed the envelope in innovation, inclusivity, and creativity.
The 2025 edition promises an immersive six-day experience filled with film screenings, masterclasses, music concerts, industry panels, networking sessions, and an award ceremony, all designed to educate, connect, and inspire emerging filmmakers and global audiences.
A standout feature of this year’s event is the return of the AiF Pitch Series, now rebranded as AiF Talent Connect 2025. This initiative offers filmmakers with works in progress a unique opportunity to pitch their projects for potential selection to Talent Connexion at the 48th Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in France. Supported by Creation Africa Ghana, details on project submissions will be announced soon.
With over 500 submissions from more than 100 countries, the upcoming edition is set to deliver one of its most diverse and thought-provoking programs yet. Official film selections will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
