The 8th edition of the prestigious Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards 2022 premiered Saturday to commemorate the biggest and brightest in African film, television and now social media. It was glitz and glamour at Eko Hotel and Suites, Nigeria – Victoria Island. Pascal Aka and Raquel from the movie ‘Gold Coast Lounge’ won the Best Soundtrack category walking away with one million Naira at the AMVCA. The soundtrack was done in collaboration with Raquel.
Gold Coast Lounge is written and directed by Pascal Aka, who also starred in the film. Other featured actors includes, Alphonse Menyo, Adjetey Anang, Zynnell Zuh, Raquel. The film’s synopsis reads as “An afro-noir film set in the heart of Ghana. A crime family have to shape up before the government shuts down their lucrative lounge. When their leader is mysteriously killed, the eldest must take over, battling insurrection and a murder investigation”. In 2020 Golden Movie Awards, Gold Coast Loung won six awards and also Won 8 awards including ‘Best Director,’ ‘Best Lead Actor,’ ‘Best Picture’ and ‘Best Supporting Actress’ at 2019 Ghana Movie Awards.
