Sarkodie and KiDi landed first ever Ghana Movies Awards nomination in the 2021 edition.
The rapper got the nomination after his song ‘borga’ was used as soundtrack for the 2021 drama film “Borga” – a drama about a Ghanaian abroad living an excessive wealthy lifestyle. Sarkodie has been nominated in the Music (Original Song) category for his contribution.
Afrobeats/Highlife singer KiDi has also got 3 nominations at the Ghana Movies Awards with his “Sugar” album. He was nominated in Visual Effects, Music {Original Song} and Discovery categories respectively.
Sugar (The Movie) is a romantic musical comedy about a musician who becomes a womaniser after breaking up with his girlfriend he cheated on. His wild ways land him in trouble until he meets the special lady who makes him rethink his lifestyle. Ghana Movie Awards 2021 is scheduled to hold on December 30, 2021.
