The Creative Arts Players (CAP) has officially launched a nationwide initiative to establish a comprehensive database for all creatives in Ghana. The registration process, open to individuals across various sectors, aims to enhance the growth, development, and welfare of the creative arts and tourism industries in the country.

This landmark initiative is set to create a centralized system that will improve industry tracking, welfare management, and royalty distribution for Ghanaian creatives. Participants are encouraged to register through a Google Forms questionnaire, which is sector-specific and easily accessible through links provided by the organization.

The database will include creatives from a diverse range of fields including music, visual arts, theater, film and cinema, fashion, digital arts, literary arts, media, cultural heritage, arts education, and cultural tourism. By gathering accurate data, CAP aims to foster better collaboration, policy advocacy, and a more unified voice for the creative arts community.

George Quaye, a key figure in the Performing Arts sector, emphasized the importance of the initiative in connecting and supporting players across all creative sectors in Ghana. “This database will serve as a vital tool for the growth and sustainability of the creative arts and tourism industries, providing a clear understanding of our talent pool and enabling better support for our creative community,” he said.

The CAP’s initiative seeks to bring together individuals and organizations from various sectors such as:

  • Performing Arts (music, theater, dance, poetry)
  • Film & Cinema (production, distribution, exhibition)
  • Visual Arts (painting, sculpture, photography)
  • Literary Arts (fiction, poetry, journalism, playwriting)
  • Digital Arts (animation, video game development, web design)
  • Fashion & Beauty (design, modeling, styling)
  • Cultural Heritage (crafts, folklore, museum management)
  • Media & Entertainment (broadcasting, event management, talent management)
  • Arts Education (training, policy development, community arts)
  • Cultural Tourism (tourism management, historical preservation)

Each creative sector is required to fill out a specific questionnaire to ensure accurate representation in the database. Interested parties can select their relevant sector and complete the form through the links provided by CAP.

The registration period is open to all creative professionals in Ghana, and CAP encourages everyone to take part. The initiative will not only serve as a tool for better management but also help in the dissemination of real-time information, foster collaboration, and advocate for policy changes to support the creative industry.

In addition, CAP’s database aims to promote unity, cooperation, and a shared vision for the industry’s advancement. By working together, creatives across the country can amplify their collective voice to drive positive change for the arts sector.
